Great cake topper for Star Wars fans
By Retired Mark T
Characters looked great on a themed Star Wars cake. The "On" button is only a momentarily "On", so I wrapped the figures in shiny black electrical tape to keep the button pressed. The tape blended in very well with the black plastic. After the cake is eaten the kids can play with the characters as toys. My five year old grandson was ecstatic. Shipping was very quick -- we didn't have much time to plan the cake but we got the figures in just a few days.

Cool if the lights on the laser stayed lit , tried to tape the button down on the back but it didn't hold

Let the Saber Battle Begin!

These cute little light up cake toppers are a wonderful edition to any Star Wars themed party or ever for just the over grown Star Wars fanatic. I had originally ordered them to top off a friend's birthday cake, but then my nephew saw that they lit up when you puched the button on the back. So I had no choice but to give him the ones I had and order another two sets of cake toppers; one for my friend, after all he was the intended reciever and the other for myself (Hey, they do light up, how cool is that?).
Anyway, all three sets work great and each set also came with two (2) plastic stands, one for Luke Skywalker and the other for Darth Varder. While the cake toppers can stand on their own without the stands it just makes clean up easier because since the figures are battery operated, the plastic stands are easier to wash than to try and wash the figures without getting the battery compartment wet, as they are not waterproof.
The only issue is, the sabers don't stay lit on thier own, you need to hold down the button on their backs. I found that about an 1.5 inch piece of clear tape placed over the button while it's pressed down keeps them lit long enough to walk the cake to the table, sing 'Happy Birthday' and blow out the candles.
And fear not, once the sabers die, the batteries are replaceable, there are four tiny screws (two in Luke) in their backs where you can remove and replace the button cell batteries. The only question that remains is, are you going to spend $8 to $10 dollars replacing the button cell batteries (they are pretty expensive), buy another set of cake toppers or are you just going to just going to throw them out and forget all about them?
I would just replace the batteries.
I know for a fact that once my nephew drains those batteries my sister won't bat an eye at the fact that they don't work any more.
However, the jury is still out on my friend.
